Empowering Future Servant Leaders with Experienced NSOM Instructors

NSOM instructors are giving their time and talents to offer students the benefit of their ministerial experience and knowledge. Classes are designed to be interactive in order to engage and stimulate the retention of the subject. We trust that you will find not only a friendly yet challenging environment but a class that gives you practical and useful knowledge that will enable your ministry to excel.

NSOM exists for the sole purpose of preparing you to develop into the servant leader that God intended you to become. Feel free to call on us if we can be of any assistance in achieving that goal.

Your Path to Ministry

Credentials: NSOM’s

Monthly Class Sessions

Class sessions are offered one Saturday a month, nine times a year. Usually, three courses are offered each month, one for each corresponding credential level (certified, licensed, and ordained). Locations for classes include:

Pensacola: Rhythm Church, 1608 Woodchuck Ave, Pensacola, FL 32504

Marianna: Marianna First Assembly at 4186 Lafayette St, Marianna, FL 32446

Freeport: Centro Transfornativo de Vid, 17457 US 331, Freeport, FL 32439

Students participate in six hours of classroom instruction concluding with a written exam. These sessions begin promptly at 9:30AM and finish by 4:30PM. The classroom instruction provides an overview of the material, practical application, and opportunities for questions and discussion.

The pre-class work includes a minimum of ten hours of reading/study of the course’s Berean School of the Bible Independent Study Text and completion of all Unit Progress Evaluations (UPEs) included in the study text.

To receive a course completion certificate, the student must attend the class session, complete the UPEs, and successfully pass the course exam.

The final course grade is based on the completion of UPEs (20%) and the final exam results (80%).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the “NSOM”?

The NSOM is a member of the Association of Assemblies of God District/Network Schools.  Its purpose is to provide training to those sensing the call to ministry whether as a credentialed minister or as an equipped layperson within the local church.

  • Where and when are the classes held?

Class sessions are held at the Activity Center at Marianna First Assembly and at Lifepoint Church in Crestview, one Saturday a month, nine times a year.  An Academic Calendar is available to download from this website or you can request one from the NSOM  directors.

  • How do I register to take a course?

Students enroll in the NSOM by completing a “Student Application” (application required at each level of study: Certified, Licensed, and Ordained) and a “Course Enrollment” form for each course taken.  These are also available to download from this website or by calling the NSOM Directors.

  • Do I have to take a course every month?

No. Students enroll in courses as often as they need or as often as time permits.  Courses from the NSOM can be combined with courses from Global University (self-study)

  • How much does it cost?

The cost to attend the NSOM is very reasonable: $50 application fee (application required at each level of study: Certified, Licensed, and Ordained) and $90 per course fee (additional $20 delivery fee for materials shipped to home address).  There is a discount for married couples taking the same course. You can audit any course for only $50 (see information regarding "Audit Only"

  • What curriculum does the NSOM use?

The NSOM uses the new Berean School of the Bible Independent Study Texts as course curriculum. Students are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours of pre-class study of the course IST and take the Unit Progress Evaluations (tests) included in the material.

  • What is an “Internship”?

Each level of study requires the student to complete a ministerial internship. Instead of attending a class, the internship requires you to collaborate with your pastor who mentors you through the internship material. These internships can be completed anytime throughout your study regimen, however, most students find it more convenient to complete these during the summer while not attending other classes. For more information, contact the NSOM for a copy of the Internship Policy.

  • Who are the instructors?

The NSOM courses are facilitated by credentialed Assemblies of God ministers from the district.  They are spiritually mature and have personally demonstrated effective ministry.

  • What if I started my studies under the "old Berean" curriculum?

The NSOM directors, in conjunction with the district secretary/treasurer, will develop a study transition plan to incorporate your prior Berean studies with the NSOM studies.
